What is motivation? Many confuse it with a wish and believe that it does not work. On the contrary, it is a driving force that makes us act when there is no desire, helps to overcome laziness and not give in to hardships. The difference between external and internal motivation

Internal motivation is when a person feels satisfaction from an activity, enjoys the process of achieving a goal. For example, an entrepreneur who likes to organize business processes and lead a team will always want to perform these tasks.

How to sustain a long-term commitment to a goal

Motivation can appear like a bright flash and disappear quickly. But there are ways to support it long-term:

1. Track your progress regularly. When development goes smoothly, a person may not notice his/her successes. Take pauses and analyze. Compare yourself with how you were a week, a month, a year ago. So you will clearly see good results and get a boost of desire to take further actions.

2. Break up tasks. Big goals can seem overwhelming and dishearten you. Break them down into smaller subgoals that are easier to deal with. Your brain will reward achieving them by producing dopamine — the pleasure hormone.

3. Travel. A person gets unique experience and can discover new interests while exploring the world. Traveling also provides an opportunity to escape from the routine, reenergize oneself and gain inspiration for new ideas.

4. Surround yourself with like-minded people. Meet motivated people with similar interests, discuss processes, share ideas. Moving towards success is easier when there is someone next to you who shares your goals and understands you. You will inspire each other to go forward.

5. Set a big goal for yourself. For example, achieving Financial Security for yourself and your family. In these uncertain times, this is one of the main priorities for every person. The desire to live in peace and feel confident in the future is always relevant, which means that motivation will not weaken.
